Prior to venturing down the path of owning my own business as a Career Ownership coach with the Entrepreneur’s Source, I felt stuck in my career. I had 20+ years of combined consulting, process improvement, and program management experience with a desire to do and be much more. Advancement opportunities were few and far between because my unique career path didn’t fit the traditional requirements that hiring managers were looking for. Time after time I heard “you’re not ready”, “your skillset isn’t what we’re looking for” or “you don’t have enough experience.” My self-worth was at its lowest point because I believed and trusted the sources of this feedback.
Various circumstances led to a switch being flipped. Rather than questioning my skills and capabilities, I began questioning why I trusted this feedback so much. Why was I letting it paralyze me and my career? Why was I allowing someone else to determine my successes and the path to realizing my full potential? Only I know me, what I bring to the table and what I’m capable of. So I decided it was time to take control of my career, invest in myself, my family and the future of our children. I no longer wanted to say “someday” but “today”.
That today is now my reality. As a Career Ownership Coach with the Entrepreneur’s Source, my passion is to assist individuals with exploring that next step in their career outside of the traditional corporate landscape through the same coaching process that led me to self-sufficiency.
